从AY1996/1997, 5种在NTU的sholar都拥有privilege of admission to a hall and room by just obtainning a minimum 20 ECA points, while other students and scholarship holders have to obtain higher ECA points to vie for admission.
然后又说.....with this privilege sheme in effect for 8 years, we received many inputs and feedbacks from other students and scholarship hoders...they felt the sheme should be removed to create a level playing field for all students......
接下来就是一些官样文章了. 无外乎就是说学校从这些feedback中意识到了给予这样的特权给这5种scholar会让他们在参加了足够20分的ECA后就不再actively involve in cultura, sports, hall, civic & social activities.于是,信的末尾提出: min 20 ECA将会从今年起逐渐增加, 每年多10分, 直到2006/2007AY, 则取消这种priviledge. 跟local students以及other scholar holders一样拿分来compete hostel accomodation.
