i fully comprehend him in feeling irritated about that he need to take a huge loan while other classmates are having scholarship, espcially he score better than some of the scholars.
however,
1. foreign scholar need to bond in SG for 6 years. so totally need to stay in SG for 10 years. the golden 10 years are spent in SG only.
2. scholarship is granted based on the preceding achievement, not what you perform after taking scholarship. but perhaps writer can suggest MOE to issue some post-study scholarship for the top 15% students, in which case he will be included.
3. lastly, in fact, we all understand that the main reason to offer this deal is to attack foreign graduates to stay in SG, hopefully to stay here forever! how many kids can writer give birth? and many ppl know that gov need new babies from "talent", no matter who they are, where they from. if not, then wait for our malay brothers and sisters to continue their high birth-rate for more generations, then chinese turn out to be minority group lor!
conclusion: too simple, too naive! but pathetic still, as he should have studied better in JC so as to get some scholarship. nevertheless, talking too much on yesterday seems less meaningful than striving for tomorrow!
