When Bishan Xiangqi Club formed on 27 Jun 2002, I talked about 3 dreams, the third dream could be considered as materialised at end 2004, the first two dreams should be materialised in Oct 2008 as mentioned in Bishan Xiangqi Club Newsletter No. 28.
After the first term of 2 years (considered as NS for Bishan residents) as Chairman, I have informed our xiangqi club adviser several times that the club should have a new Chairman as I will be moving out of Bishan by 2009.
In my this No. 1,400 posting in 悟入棋途, I hope to move from the front (as chairman) to the back (as one of the EXCO members if my service is needed) within the next one and an half years before moving out of Bishan.
As mentioned previously, since I do not need to worry about 学业 and 事业 (as retiree), as long as 家庭 and 健康 are ok, 象棋 should be continued as my 兴趣与爱好。Furthermore, if times permit and I am still having interests, I will help the C.C. or R.C. at my new place to form a xiangqi team (mainly to save costs and times in travelling, and still contribute to Singapore Xiangqi).
By the way, when I look at the building design, I notice that the R.C. will be located at Level 26 with a connected running path to join all the 7 blocks at Level 26 and the sky garden at Level 50 to join all 7 blocks with more than 1,800 HDB units. How about to have xiangqi competition at Level 26 ?
