Main Activities/Tasks:

• Member of the technical staff developing breakthrough inkjet printer products and technology
• Key engineer responsible for bridging gaps between critical subsystems
• Help create system designs that allow printhead, ink supply, printer, software and other components to work together effectively
• Design & conduct benchtop experiments to find problems and provide solutions
• Work with firmware and software while experimenting with prototype devices as well as productintent designs
• Create new operational algorithms and specify methods for how subsystems such as ink supply, printhead maintenance and print mechanics should interact
• Interface with subsystem engineers and code developers to create a robust, fault-tolerant design

Experience & Skill
-------------------------
• 10 years experience with electro-mechanical or chemical/fluid transport systems or 5 years with direct inkjet printer systems
• Strong computer aptitude, including working with custom applications, scripting and test code
• Versatile, flexible, creative, team player
• Demonstrated independent judgment
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Skilled in experimental design and analysis

• Experience developing products for volume production
• Familiar with product development life cycle
• Experience developing inkjet technology
• Experience evaluating printed image quality and quantified metrics
• Understanding of common print defects
• Familiar with various types and qualities of print media

• Understanding of common inkjet system interactions
• Ability to write code for experiments with prototype hardware
Education
• B.S. degree in science or engineering, or extensive industry experience
