Position Mission
As Business Intelligence Project Manager, the candidate is required to deliver an end-to-end business intelligence user experience that provides business insights, enhances operations efficiency and company competitiveness.
Responsibility
80% • Project Management / Business Analysis
o Self-drive the full project life cycle, including all the communications with the sponsors and stakeholders
o Gather and document reporting requirements
o Derive project plan and communicate project progress status
o Deploy BI solutions, conduct user acceptance test and sign off
o Evangelize reports by conducting demo, training and roadshow
• Development
o Lead and supervise BI Analysts or Specialists throughout the development and testing cycle
o Design reports look and feel, propose UI and deployment functions
o Create stored procedures or SSIS packages from multiple servers for reporting use
o Ensure data is of high accuracy and of good integrity
o Develop reports using SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services or Excel 2010
o Ongoing maintenance of deployed reports such as change request
• Analytics
o Analyze and articulate trend in executive meetings with business owners
o Apply statistical knowledge for drivers analysis
o Analyze seasonality and forecast volume and revenue
o Understand the business process behind numbers and provide business insights
20% • Training and learn new technologies, prototyping on beta products
• Sharing of knowledge and adopting best practices within the team
• Reverse engineer existing reports and leverage them for use. Propose best practices for adoption
Experience Requirement
• Master or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer, Electrical or Industrial) or Statistics
• Highly independent individual with 8 ~ 10 years’ experience in Business Analytics, Data Warehouse Management, and have proven track record in delivering business analytics solutions
• Minimal 3 years experiences as a Project Manager role. PMP or other relevant certifications would be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and project management skills. Ability to clearly document meeting notes and user requirement is essential
• Able to work under time pressure and manage multiple concurrent projects
• Highly proficient in SQL and Excel (PivotTable), preferably Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008
• Strong experience in database design, creating stored procedures, packages (SSIS) as well as server configurations. Must have experience in setting up new database servers
• Experience in the area of analytically thinking, problem solving, and data mining algorithm research would be an added advantage.
• Ability to self-learn new database and articulate the business rule behind the data to stakeholders in a fast pace environment
• Highly resourceful individual who is proactive in asking and persistent in getting to understand the meaning behind the data
• Experience in the area of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Reporting, ideally combined with an industry qualification and a system development background
• Prefer to have experience in Silverlight
• Prefer to have experience in developing and running performance scorecards for organization
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
