5 Sep 2007 13:58 CST DJ Singapore Exchange Revises STI Calculation Upward To 3437.4
SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--The value of the Straits Times Index was revised upward 1.3% to 3437.36 from 3394.47 Wednesday following calculation difficulties during the morning session, according to a figure on the Singapore Exchange website.
The exchange earlier in the day said the value of the index may not reflect movement in component stocks and traders said the problem caused difficulty in calculating the value of derivatives linked to the index.
The new calculation reflects a 1.8% rise at midday trade.
A spokesperson from the exchange was not immediately available for comment.
