QUERY REGARDING TRADING ACTIVITY
In relation to the query raised by the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited on Rotary
Engineering Limited (the “Company”) substantial increase in the trading volume of the Company’s
shares today, the Board of Directors would like to announce as follows:
Question 1: Are you aware of any information not previously announced concerning you (the
issuer), your subsidiaries or associated companies which, if known, might explain the trading? If
yes, the information must be announced immediately.
It has come to the attention of the Board that on 18 June 2009 in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Saudi
Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (“SATORP”) issued a press release on the
award of EPC contracts for its Jubail Export Refinery. The press release mentioned the award of
EPC Package for Refinery Tank Farm to PETRO STEEL.
PETRO STEEL mentioned in the press release may have been interpreted to be Petrol Steel Co.
Ltd., our joint venture company in Saudi Arabia, which submitted a bid for the said package on 23
March 2009. We have not to date received any formal communication from SATORP about the
award of this package.
We will make a public announcement at an appropriate time if and when we have been notified of
the award by SATORP.
