Question about Pentium (M) processor /w speedstep
<<始页 [1] 末页>>

Question about Pentium (M) processor /w speedstepCorrect me if I am wrong about the followoing:

For above processor, if the system is not busy or on battery, it will run at lower frequency.

My question is when it will go back to maximum frequency?

Here is my guess, but seems not true. (My process is 1.2G/2.0G).

1) when AC power is plug-in.
(In winxp) However, before plugin, 1.2G. After plugin and wait for 2 mins, it is still 1.2G. I expect it to be 2G.

2) when system becomes busy.
(In linux) I run some infinite-loop program, the system is fully utilized (can see it from "top"), after 2 mins, it is still 1.2G.

Now, I am confused :(

Anybody can help, e.g. how to return to maximum frequency?

(BTW, if boot the system with AC power, it stays in maximum frequency.)

your mother board jumper setting is wrongthere maybe a 3-choose-2 jumper in your mother board to let you select the base frequency of your CPU. change that to another different 2, you will get the 2.0G[darkart (5-27 11:03, Long long ago)] [ 传统版 | sForum ][登录后回复]2楼
