It's a method to detect specific DNA sequence orgene expression. YOu use gel electrophoresis to separate the denatured DNA sequence. Transfer the DNA onto a cellulose paper for probing. Then you use a probe that can specifically bind to a sequence(or gene) you want to find. Usually radioactive labelled or chemiluminescence labelled for signal detection later.

Signal detected---> means there is gene you want to find in the DNA mixture applied to gel in the beginning.

中文解说 -->第一步:把要探测的DNA用restriction enzymes 剪成n段

第二步:把这些DNA片断进行电泳处理,这些片断就会被按照它们的size分开.

第三步:把这些已经分离的片断转移的一张滤纸上(方法见genetics,Pg284, 不难理解), 同时保持它们的相对位置不变.

第四布:把这张滤纸放到一个溶液里,这个溶液应该事先就放有你要用来探测的probe. 这样probe就会附着到不同的DNA片断上.

第五步:再把滤纸冲洗一下,以去掉附着不牢的probe,就可以用紫外线来探测了

结果分析:根据probe的位置可以得出被probe附着的DNA的size
