A major event during the Good Friday period, 21 to 23 Mar 2008 ?个人赛, 双人赛和象总茶阳杯学生象棋个人赛(Final) in Mar 2008 at 甘榜格南C.C. as mentioned under 主帖碧山民众俱乐部象棋会快讯19 to be included later when more details are confirmed.

In Mar 2008, a period of 3 days (long weekend) including Good Friday, 21 Mar to 23 Mar, could be considered if any xiangqi club plans to have a major event. Previously, the 2004 & 2005 Lion City Cups and 2007 Lee Bee Wah's Cup were held during the Good Friday periods.

Bishan East Constituency Sports Club (CSC) contributed $600 each in 2004 and 2006 Chinese Cultural Festivals for Bishan Xiangqi Club to organise : --

For 第3届碧山杯全国象棋个人赛曁第1届碧山杯全国选区象棋团体赛, Bishan East CSC has agreed on 26 Dec 2007, Wednesday short meeting held in the evening at Bishan Xiangqi Club to contribute again with higher amount, i.e. $800.

Now, with careful planning, we should have enough budget for these two coming events although the initial planned budget was reduced a lot.

During the short meeting with Bishan East CSC on 26 Dec 2007 night.

We also talked about 2009 活动预告组队到西马交流 but th CSC Chairman told us that his current term is until end Jan 2009 and he does not wish to continue as this is his 4th or 5th term (?).

So, we may need to plan the visit early before the change of chairman so that he may be able to give support, another factor for consideration.

We may allow at least one player and one official each from all xiangqi clubs.
