I don't think it's applicable to modern life style. One reason is because the food we take everyday is more than the ancient did. Actually we have sufficient sugar consumption from our diet. Don't you think more people are getting obesed nowadays? Thus, it's not healthy any more to take a cup of honey mild before sleeping.
It is recommended by modern physicians that we should drink a cup of water instead of honey milk to dilute our blood in order to prevent development of atherosclerosis. It is also noted that elderly usually get stroke if their blood gets too thick in the dawn period. A cup of water is more useful in these sense to prevent stroke.
