Q: What is the Private Medical Insurance Scheme (PMIS) ?
A: PMIS is a scheme which allows CPF members to use their Medisave savings to buy Medisave–approved Integrated Shield Plans for themselves and their dependants. Dependants refer to a member's parents, spouse, children and grandparents.
The use of Medisave is subject to a limit of $800 per insured person, per policy year for insured members below 81 years old (age next birthday). For insured members 81 years old (age next birthday) and above, the withdrawal limit for premiums is $1,150 per insured person, per policy year from 1 December 2008.
Each insured person can only have one Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plan paid with Medisave
