碧山陈一龙，年青棋手，前茶阳杯冠军，实力强劲。
另外经过棋人生，齐启棋，棋一生，几度的大力宣传，本次比赛中我听到好多人都在讨论“我在网上看到什么什么”。比赛中碧山象棋会会长洪先生再次提到了qi.huasing.org，令人热泪盈眶。网上交流大大方便了棋友，大大节省了时间，对提高棋艺和获取比赛信息益处极大，相信大家共同的心愿是提高新加坡的整体象棋水平。

For 57 players registered, 52 turned up on 1st day, 1 Mar 2008, at the end of day 1, 1 withdrew, left 51 players.

At the beginning of day 2, 2 Mar 2008, 50 players turned up and played for Rounds 5, 6 & 7. 3 more players left after Round 7 and another 3 players left after Round 8.

So, there were 47 qualified players at the end of the competition and 44 players had completed all 9 rounds, the other 3 players completed only 8 rounds.

25 out of the 44 players completed all 9 rounds were from the various xiangqi clubs and 24 were in the list of 29 winners for 2008 Bishan Cup except one Bishan player, i.e. all xiangqi clubs are having 100 % winning rates except Bishan and I believe all clubs including Bishan are happy with the results.

Thanks to the support from all 57 players and all xiangqi clubs. :)

one Bishan player (Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC resident but not Bishan East resident) slept at SIXGA after Round 8 and turned up for Round 9 but too late for the game. He could have ranked 21st instead of 31st.

As indicated at the prize giving, the Top 28 and the best Bishan East resident player, total of 29 players were the winners as released.

Nanyang 11 + 17 + 20 + 57 = 105 (1st team)

Kampong Glam 12 + 21 + 22 + 57 = 111 (2nd team)

Bishan East 33 + 34 + 39 + 45 = 151 (3rd team)

Another story regarding the 21 plaques ($6.25 per plaque) .....

The Top 8 winners were given cash prizes (NTUC FairPrice vouchers) and Trophies ($21 per trophy).

For the other 21 winners, in general, those winners without cash prize were given plaques with Red wordings of 车 or 马 or 炮 and those with cash prizes were given plaques with black wordings of 车 or 马 or 炮.

I checked the photos taken last night and noticed that 一刀n断 is having plaque with Red wording of 车 and cash prize too.:D

the true reasons are I discovered the error after the first prize giving of plaque (red wording) to 一刀n断 (one photo taking) and before the prize giving to Bishan members, i.e. the cash prize given to him at this point (another photo taking).


this 八卦 news is for 卷心菜, on 一刀n断 too.

一刀n断 played with 邱子扬 in Round 8 and won. I think he should share the $20 (two $10) NTUC FairPrice Vouchers with 邱子扬. :D

此次邱子扬小弟弟与前NUS队长大斗到马炮兵马炮卒后残棋崩溃。
假以时日，小邱必成大器。

本次前几轮卷心菜未能遇到邱子扬小弟弟甚感遗憾。
后面卷心菜听从齐启棋在开赛前对大家讲的“独家升级秘笈”，一举获取5连胜，也失去了与小邱过招的机会，甚为可惜。

Furthermore, the procedure for one of the two players going to toilet during the game is so clear and ended up quite a number of players know the procedure so well and stop their opponents from going to the toilet. SIXGA may wish to consider to use the same way of control for the 2008 Singapore Open, i.e. players can help to enforce or to reduce the admin works for the arbiters.

So, now I have only two more 2008 New Year wishes to think about ....
