Everything works fine at the beginning. Afterwards, an error msg pops up, saying that a program Scvhost.exe generates an error and will be closed by windows. After that msg, problems occur in my IE and windows explorer. When I surf the net using IE, if clicking a link will pop up a new IE windows, it simply has no responds at all. Besides, I could not do any copy and paste to files using windows explorer. Some directories like "my pictures" get a strange layout. BTW, I use win 2000.

I restart my computer several times and even restore my IE using windows updated, however, the same thing will happen if it is connected to the net and only will not happen if I unplug the cable.

Could anyone tell me how to fix the problem? Besides, my Norton has been expired; can anyone tell me where to download new anti-virus software? Thanks!
