1、因为手写阿拉伯数字容易被修改，比如“1”很容易就可以改成“4”或其他数字，或者在数字前后中间间隙较大处多加一位数字。所以，手写时一般用英文大写来保证数目不被修改。

在支票的Singapore Dollars后的横线上，紧接着写：
例一：One Thousand One Hundred and Twenty-Five, Cents Fifty-Two Only
例二：One Thousand One Hundred and Twenty-Five Only

例一中的"Only"可以省略，而例二中不可以，如果没有"Only"，有人就可以在后面加个"Million"，当然用一长条横线将数字后的空位都划掉也可以用来代替"Only"，总之是以防修改为目的。

2、如果用打印的话，使用了不易被修改或不易被伪造的打印字体，就可以使用阿拉伯数字。如果打印的数字易被伪造并且在支票中的打印位置无法精确到正好在"Dollars"正后面紧挨着，就需要在数字前面打若干个“*”来防止有人添加数字。
