Hi,
The next training session is on Tuesday 19 August from 6.30 pm to 10 pm in MPSH 4. For those who did not turn up on the first session, you are welcome to come and take a look at our activities. You can join the club if you like the activities. For those who would like to join the club but have not registered, please do so during the next session on 19 August.
In case you missed out on the introduction to the club during the first session, I will highlight some of the important points below.
Intellectual Games Club will be having its training sessions every Tuesday from 6.30 pm to 10 pm in MPSH 4 (3rd level, above MPSH 1). The timing is flexible. You can come after 6.30 pm or leave before 10 pm if you have other commitments.
The objective of the club is to promote intellectual gaming in NUS and provide a platform for players to come together to play and interact. The games we play are International Chess, Chinese Chess, Reversi (Othello), Weiqi (Go), Bridge (contract/floating) and Dai Di. The club accepts members of all levels. Even if you know nothing about the games and would like to learn how to play, you are welcome to join. There will be people teaching you how to play the games. If you are good at the game, you can teach weaker players and help them improve the game. Besides playing the games, you can have interaction with other members and get to know more people.
We have a partnership with NUS Tabletop Gaming Interest Group. Tabletop Gaming plays modern board games like those from Settler's Cafe. So besides the games we play, you will have a chance to play modern board games as well.
Intellectual Games Club is a very new club, currently in our second year in NUS. It is not yet recognised as a CCA in NUS. As such, there are no CCA points awarded at the moment. However, we are in the midst of getting the club recognised. After it has been recognised, there will be CCA points awarded to people who contributes to the club.
I believe that the club is there so that members can benefit from it. If there is anything that you feel the club can improve on for your benefit, please feel free to give me your feedback. If you have any queries, please also feel free to ask.
Thank you. Hope to see you on Tuesday! :)
Regards,
Anthony
President
