Information prepared previously in early 2007 as below (Page 24 of Bishan 5th Anniversary Special Edition) :

由团体联赛与狮城杯（A组）看来，任何比赛都必须有这八支历史背景的队伍参加，包括义顺南，哥南亚逸，文礼，北斗，波那维斯达，加基武吉，飞鹰与淡滨尼东。另三支队伍甘榜格南，白沙东与碧山的表现则不大理想。今年初，在飞鹰加盟白沙东后，有可能的话，一般的团体赛应尽可能包括上述十支队伍。

Club Leaders please let me know if you could provide additional data of your clubs so that more information could be compiled for the purpose.

Corporation Primary School, 德行小学 will be having 第2届西区小学象棋团体赛 on 11 Nov 2008, in addition to :

1 碧山杯 -- Nov 2003 to Nov 2006, 4 times.

2 茶阳杯 -- May 2004 to May 2008, 5 times, the next one should be held in May 2009.

In this case, 第3届西区小学象棋团体赛 should be held in Nov 2009.

2008 甘榜格南象棋个人赛 (known as 罗明士杯个人赛 before 2006)

this is one of the yearly events for quite a number of years, should keep a record in 1995 -- 2009 新加坡十五年象棋活动之一二 ...... if possible.


For 24 and 31 Aug 2008, about 47 players including 8 members from Bishan are fighting for 11 prizes excluding 7 prizes for 甘榜格南 members only.

managed to find the two reports below from 新加坡全国象棋个人赛 1999 and 2000 对局记录.



If we could get the same type of reports for 2001 to 2008, then we could compile the first 10-year report for the period from 1999 to 2008. Now, at least we still need the full Group A lists for 2001 to 2004.

I read the 等级分 reports in these 新加坡全国象棋个人赛 1999 and 2000 对局记录 and notice that the following records are not included in the reports :

(1) players did not join in the past 5 years 新加坡全国象棋个人赛

(2) players with less than 2,150 等级分

In this case, the rates of past participations (at least once in every 5 years) and standards (not below 2,150 等级分) were considered for 等级分 calculations previously, the suggestion of using them for promotion/demotion considerations now is in the same direction, at least we should consider to propose all graded players to join 新加坡全国象棋个人赛 at least once in every 5 years.

heard that 5 of the total 44 players (excluding 4 did not turn-up) having 7 points after the first 4 rounds, next 4 rounds to be held on 31 Aug 2008, Sunday, starting at 12 noon.

In 2007, players with 11 points or above were in the Top 8 .......

The recent three 国家队挑战赛 have surfaced a few issues for the future too :

(A) The selection of 国家队

(B) The training of 国家队

发展方向与未来三至五年的中期与长期训练计划

back-up for 国家队 : 国家挑战一队， 国家挑战二队， 国家挑战三队， 国家挑战四队 ....., in fact Round the Year Competition / Training should be held, say for a group of not less than 10 or not more than 20 Top players, then a Round Robin system could be used to assess them once or twice a year, i.e. say about one serious game per week for the selected players.

In Oct 2008, there are two 国际赛 :

首届世界智力运动会 (北京) (10月3 - 18日)

and

第15届亚洲象棋锦标赛(新加坡)(10月20-26日)


The Selection should be over and now should concentrate on Training .....

At this point, we should try to help and encourage 国家队 in whatever we can, other longer term issues should be discussed and reviewed after the two events.

Personally, I wish to suggest 国家队 and officials to hold internal meetings, training etc and now it may not a good time to discuss any 国家队 member, either technical, style etc in 悟入棋途 openly.

For each and every 国家队 members, they are selected with their own credits, they should move on from here, do your best and do not spend times to think too much on future results.

Last but not least, these should form part of the historical records of 1995 -- 2009 新加坡十五年象棋活动之一二 ......

If the discussion with SIXGA in early Nov 2008 with positive result, I plan to complete this task within one year (Nov 2008 to Nov 2009) with regular reviews :

-- 3 quarterly reviews (Jan 2009, Apr 2009, Jul 2009)

-- 3 monthly reviews (Aug 2009, Sep 2009, Oct 2009)

-- 3 weekly reviews in Nov 2009

Singapore xiangqi lovers please alert me early on the relevant topics if you wish to help up to compile the information so as to avoid duplication of efforts.

悟入棋途[版主:卷心菜 一刀n断 张辽 ] may wish to provide a short write-up (if possible by Mar 2009) for the use in Chapter 13.

As mentioned previously, if we do not try to compile the information this time, we may not able to compile it later as people like 白贵忠先生 (象总前赛务) and 毛瑞发先生 (设计象总会徽) are no more with us now ....

As I am not free to help out in coming Oct 2008, I should be able to help SIXGA in the area of Compiling 新加坡十五年象棋活动之一二 ...........
