The RNR indeed did not have specific rules on this ...however, in AXF2003 Rules of XQ, under Rules of Play, Chapter 2 Section 9,Technical Violation, A technical violation is awarded if 9.1 while in game, a player indiscriminately leave his seat, talk to others or consult any materials, including using non-mental tools (another chess set or write down moves variations etc) to do analysis.
