The biggest mistake made by Milan is to let Realthrough to the quarters. The biggest mistake made by Juventus is to let Milan continue to chase behind. You get what i mean? Kill the opponents off as early as possible is never wrong!

Both Milan and Juv will be invovled in two sets of match:
Series A and Champions League. Even if Milan had eliminated
Real, who will benefit? Their next rival, Juv. And for Juv?
It's Inter! Actually what do you think Lippi consider as the
most horrible opponent? In this stage, it is definitely Inter!
So even if Lippi had eliminated Milan, the happiest man is
Cuper... agree? And even Milan will probably play false ball
when meeting with Inter!!! So both sides have to consider
carefully and make a proper balance between two sets of games!
