假设大家报这两个专业都是想进投行。
MFE 和 MAF：这两个课程侧重点很不一样，所以很难比较孰优孰劣。应该只能说哪个更适合自己。
MFE的培养目标很明确，就是要培养quant(包括quant support, quant developer), 要求比较强的数理能力。
quant的主要工作是风险管理(middle office)，衍生品定价(front office)。
这次金融危机以后估计对衍生品的监管会非常严格，所以在衍生品这个方向对quant的需求会降低很多。
另外MFE出来还有个不错的方向就是去hedge fund 去做 statistical arbitrager. 主要是依靠数据采集，统计的方法来帮助进行股票交易。
但是据说刚毕业出来的学生去hedge fund应该是相当难的，除非有认识的人在里面。
MAF--至少smu的MAF--的培养目标就没有那么明确了，看他们对自己课程的overview:
