RESEARCH OFFICER in Biological Visualization
Job Description:
The Live Cell Imaging and Image Analysis group of the Imaging
Informatics Division focuses on 3D time-lapse microscopy of living
cells. The group seeks to recruit a Research Officer who is keen and
trained to develop new methods for the visualization of biological
processes. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary
team of biologists, engineers and computer scientists. We invite
applications from computer science degree holders with
specialization in computer graphics who are very interested to apply
their craft to the life science domain. As one career option, BII
encourages candidates to move on to a PhD track.
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, at least 2nd
upper Honors
Passion for Research
Excellent skills in Computer Graphics
Proficiency in C++ or Java programming
Experience in developing standalone software for 3D modeling and
rendering using OpenGL, VTK or X3D
A strong interest in biology is essential
