it's good to move to non-financial institutions' CF department onlyafter one has accumulated some experience in a CF House. imagine as an internal CF professional, your client is one and only one.

i know some company call their finance department corporate finance and does payroll.
for corp finance houses, we do IPO, M&A advisory, FA and IFA, valuation, right issues, bonds and warrants, convertible securities, placement, etc.
So hope the internal CF is defined in the same manner.
I agree with CFA that experience and exposure wise, a CF house is a much better place to start with.
