my opinion is alwasys like this:
If you're making money—say your stock is going up because you're long—you need to understand why. What's the real reason behind your gains? Is it because you're good at picking stocks through solid fundamental analysis? Are you skilled at reading charts? Are you simply in sync with the broader market trend? Or… is it just luck?
The harsh truth is that most people amplify their confidence without honestly acknowledging the real source of their profits. Anyone can make money on 20 or 30 out of 100 trades. Anyone can ride a bull market and convince themselves they have some kind of killer instinct. There's an old saying: “You know? It's a bull market.”
Take a look at the top 50 market cap stocks in the US, China, and Germany(Europe). Most of them have seen massive gains from 2024 to now. Singapore is moving with the global current. Given its market size, Singapore can't detach itself from the turbulence coming from the world's major players—the US, China, and the EU.
Follow the flow. Follow the trend. Singapore 独善其身? i don't think so.
