Since you re-installed your OSthese problem still exist....
if you bother to do it, format System drive and re-install a good copy Winxp and then upgrade. notice, in order to upgrade to SP1, do not use FCKQ... serial number..
this is the dull solution, take any other solution before this one... >.

Because really lazy to do that, :P...But still thanx a lot.^_^ Now when I encounter problem in english or chinese input, restart can temporarily solve it. As I recall my memory, input problem came out since I add in German input... Can that be the reason??
For DVD file, now I start to use media player clasic6.4. So far it works smoothly, just not looks as beautiful as MPlayer 9 series...>_-
