A surprise from MindChamps Preschool — $480 graduation package
On 14 Jun, our son brought back a form to ask us to sign. It is a form regarding the year end graduation concert.
At the first glance, I understand this is a grand event to bring all MindChamps K2 kids to attend a mega graduation concert.
What is that? This seems something new. The management team had never communicated with us at beginning of the year, during the curriculum talk.
With a further read, I found it is difficult to understand the intention of this event — what is the benefit for the island wide K2 kids to attend this grand event? How about the past school based graduation concert? We had so much fun to see our kids standing on the stage in the past years and have been looking forward to it since beginning of the year! We are K2 now!!
With a worried heart, I immediately called the centre director and principal to understand the detail arrangement. To our surprise, we were told there will be no more centre based concert any more and it will be only one grand event for all island wide kids. This is the headquarter decision.
I am confused, very confused. So what is the benefit for all island wide kids to join together? Well, the centre director said, this is good opportunity to have connections with other centres. I am more confused, what is the benefit of having connections with other centres for a kid at this age? I said to him, I don’t understand this connection benefit and also my kid is in K2, an important transition period for him to get ready for the P1, why does the HQ propose such busy program for the kids? Well, I was told by the director again. Be assured it won’t be so busy, it won’t be so much time consuming interaction. Oh mine, you conflict yourself. I told him immediately.
I am also not happy that the centre cancelled the centre based concert. And my younger girl will not have opportunity to be on the stage any more!
Grand event or cozy centre based event. I don’t care whether MindChamps want to bring the new experience to the kids. But now, the grand event was introduced and the centre concert is cancelled without notice to any parents.
How much is it?
It is a $480 package including the stage show and graduation photo etc.
If you choose only to have the photo taken session, it will be $170.
I am surprised to see this expensive arrangement, it is a 260% increase compared to last year package of $180....
Again, what is the benefit to the kids and all parents?
I was happy to see my kids are happy in school, well take care by the kind hearted teachers . I am so upset to see the movement of MindChamps since listed. It might be good for investors to cut the operational cost by canceling all centre based concert and increasing the revenue by collecting more money... it also might lead to the fail of the operation with no consideration of what kids and parents want .
We are upset.
