快要去SOC读书了，想请教各位过来人！我马上要开始进入SOC读书了，有点茫然，想请教各位：
1）能不能总体介绍一下这个系，包括学习方法。
2）需不需要先自学一些数学知识，或编程基础？
3）第一年应该选那些科目（我想去读IS）？
4）有什么好办法能顺利进入荣誉学位的programme?
5)有没有听过那个"advanced placement test，是什么来的？

粗略的回答一下1）能不能总体介绍一下这个系，包括学习方法。
这个太笼统，一时想不出。学习方法么，因人而异。
2）需不需要先自学一些数学知识，或编程基础？
有最好，没有也行。
3）第一年应该选那些科目（我想去读IS）？
读那些level 1000的必修课。
4）有什么好办法能顺利进入荣誉学位的programme?
这个看CAP的，成绩稍好点就可以进。
5)有没有听过那个"advanced placement test，是什么来的？
没听过耶。我是老人，只知道QET，那是考英文的。

Based on my personal experience, I suggest going through GCE 'A' level mathematics (in English of course). That helps you a lot in adapting to the terminologies and the ways of scienticfic expressions in English.
If you are interested, you may go through A-level physics, chemistry, etc. too. I found it quite fun to go through subjects that I had learnt before, but in a different language, different style, and different structure.
3）第一年应该选那些科目（我想去读IS）？
In your first year, CS/IS doesn't differ much. Just go for common essentials first. When looking for electives, you may try to be more selective, but that will most probably after your first semester, when you'll be familiar with the subjects more or less.
4）有什么好办法能顺利进入荣誉学位的programme?
Study hard.
5)有没有听过那个"advanced placement test，是什么来的？
Advanced placement test for which subject? Are you referring to QET? If you can pass QET, you can basically skip some English language modules. No big deal.[Flying (6-29 10:14, Long long ago)]

I guess u almost finished it, right? so how is the career prospect? can find a
high-paid job or not? i heard that some honours bachelors only earn 2200 dollars
per month, and those from three years' programme even spent one whole year to
find a job!
what i am most afraid of is that i can't perform well even if i put much
effort in it! u know, programming needs some talent, and i am not so sure
about myself...
as far as u know, how many percentage students can enter the 4 year program?
how many percentage students will eventually get 1st class honours?

汗，偶终于可以当过来人了偶是那种不聪明的猪
所以偶觉得读书很辛苦，读soc就更辛苦了
偶两个学期scap相差1。2
原因：1 选好课，不要只听senior讲，更不要自己乱搞（偶是受害者）
2 拒绝诱惑，管他是帅哥还是美食都要忍。你要想多花在他们身上一分钟，你就少了一分钟编程(虽然世界上我最讨厌干的事情就是编程）
3 不要花很多时间去做自己不喜欢的活动，如果单纯想留hall，或者像我这种被别人拉着留hall的，最好先权衡利弊（结果到了现在，偶还很想住pgp了。汗。。。这一年最失败的地方）
4 这个不能告诉你。不过如果你是PLMM，偶可以考虑（偶喜欢美女的嗦）
你肯定有很多senior三，如果你是男的，就找个女的，如果你是女的就抓个男的。花几个小时慢慢问

5,6不是
我想还有100多人没有选
偶觉得努力了，拿honor是没有问题的，不过要拿first class，偶觉得天赋多多少少得有点儿的
偶进soc之前也关心以后能拿多少工资，偶进soc之后，就只关心偶的cap了。2200不错了三，偶听说不是honor的有拿1300的，那才有个性
还有就是，对于soc来说，100个人有100个说法，你听多了之后也就不爱听了。因为你都不晓得哪个说的是真的。或许都是真的，只是不同人不同的想法不同的观点而已吧
偶挺没抱负的，难免消极了点儿。
你还是多听听强者的话，或许会受益匪浅
不过问某一门课难不难，咋样能拿高分，偶觉得还是不要问那些强人比较好[zizi (7-4 1:09, Long long ago)]

If you are confident about yourself on one particular module and would like to get the credits without studying it for a whole semester, you may require to take "Advanced Placement Test".
