Baldur's Gate 2it is better to install its expansion 'throne of baal' before start playing the game coz 'Shadow of Amn' alone has a level cap.Experience will not be counted if ur characters' levels exceed the level-cap, so better have the cap removed.
'throne of baal' has some other nice added functions which i can't remember well.
'throne of baal' allows ur mages to use level 8 or 9 spell(again can't remember the level well. they are spells at the same level as time-stop horrid-writing). "Shadow of Amn" does not allow.
Time stop followed by 3 horrid writing on a dragon. then say bye bye to that beefed-up creature.^_^

Tips: duel class ur main character. starting with a fighter-type character(recommended class:the one can use double weapon.called 'sword saint' or something else.this class cannot wear armor one) and advance to a level with decent attack bonus and not too low ac.then duel him to mage(mage cannot wear armor,that's why that fighter class is recommended). haha....cast time stop and speed, and hack ur way through....blood....blood....

specialize in katana coz the best single-handed weapon is a katana called Celestial Fury which can be found in a big anonymous house at the temple district. u can obtain it at very early stage of the game provided u can kill the 5 men guarding it.(one of the men wields Celestial Fury).
