Rules maintain the integrity of a competition, analogous to how law ensures the security of a country. Moreover, this is a National competition and amending the rules midway through the competition will set a precedent case for future disputes. The proper procedure would be to write in to SIXGA about your concern about amending the rules (such as allowing replacement of players in the case of withdrawal) and implement it in future competitions.
