The concern is less for 第3届碧山杯全国象棋个人赛 as we should have at least 40 players based on the figures in 2004 (26 -- Bishan East only) and 2006 (56 --Central Singapore only).

The concern is more on 第1届碧山杯全国选区象棋团体赛 whether we have minimum of 10 teams as planned. There is quite a tight control using the address. 选区团体赛 for sports (basket ball, table tennis etc) have more tighter controls on addresses, i.e. staying within the constituency for at least one year. This is also one of the reasons for us not to include graded players for the coming event to avoid any misunderstanding.

We may plan to invite some good players from primary schools, say the one 卷心菜 always talk about.... etc.

We should know the actual situation on 31 Jan 2008 and whether we need to wait for another 35 years before someone trying again on 全国选区象棋团体赛.....

What is the thinking process for 2008 Bishan Cup …..

碧山民众俱乐部象棋会简讯 (9) dated 29 Mar 2006 提到

由于为配合2006年华族文化节而主办的第2届碧山杯新加坡中区象棋个人赛于2006年2月19日与26日在碧山民众俱乐部活动室1与2得以园满的举行(with 56 players including 7 with grades)，

主办当局考虑把这项活动于来届升级为全国性，以便全国各地的无级棋手及受邀棋会的会员参加。

So, 第3届碧山杯全国象棋个人赛 was decided around that time (Mar 2006).

After my Yunnan tour (5 to 15 Apr 2006), I attended a dinner on 16 Apr 2006 after [北斗 vs 加基武吉] 友谊赛 held in the same afternoon, during the dinner, I saw Mr 谭铭憲 having a few publications including the publication for 1st Inter-Constituency Chinese Chess Championships 1973. I borrowed it to read in details.

After knowing the whole event held over more than one month (definitely not workable nowadays), I wish to propose a new method if possible when we have a chance to organize a competition with such nature, i.e. Inter-Constituency.

The stopping of 6-player 团体联赛 since 2004 and 4-player 狮城杯 just for 2004 and 2005 only give us a more bigger issue to think about (in 2006), although 4-player 李美花杯象棋团体赛 since 2007 and the recent Mind Sport 4-player Xiangqi have filled up the gaps somehow…….

I also learn about the system used by the Xiangqi World Cup ….

After the decision to stop 碧山杯小学象棋团体赛 in early July 2007, in our proposal for 第1届碧山杯全国选区象棋团体赛, we plan to have up to 6 players per team initially (with up to 3 graded players). Later due to a much lower budget, we have decided to have team of 4 players without grade so that we are able to use the same system as xiangqi world cup, the rest of the development are histories ……..

Last but not least, I heard from Mr 林耀森 that nowadays, graded players are looking for more competitions but not so much on the prizes too (i.e. same as the non-graded players), with this in mind, it may be easier for the organizers to have more competitions with graded players. :)

or we prefer to have no 联谊赛 as in 2006 (第三届理事就职 on 21 Jun 2006) for this year since we have 第四届理事就职 on 25 Jun 2008.

I am thinking to revert our Bishan 快讯 back to 只报导一、两项活动的布告栏方式 when we are given the Notice Board again .....

If more than 40 players, then we may extend the closing date before end Feb to take in more players but limit to total of 100.

3 times at Bishan -- Mar 2004, Jun 2004(第一届新加坡”东””南” 六队象棋团体联谊赛) and Jan 2007

and

1 time at Pasir Ris East -- Feb 2003

24 Feb 2008, while Pasir Ris East C.C. having 6-team friendly match for the CNY gathering, SIXGA is leading 60-player team to Kulai for 新柔百人赛.

This is repeating the same historical problem happened in 2006 :

while Bishan having 2006 华族文化节 Bishan Cup (19 & 26 Feb 2006) for Central Singapore 56-player, the 2006 新柔百人赛 was held on 19 Feb 2006 at Kaki Bukit.

I have suggested previously that all xiangqi activities should be registered with SIXGA and priority should be given to the first activity registered with SIXGA.

Hope we do not have the chance to see such thing happened again in 2010. !!!!

registration to change the date, otherwise SIXGA should support the first registration only.

If second registration is very important as compared to first registration from SIXGA's view, say at National Level, then 【协调】need to come in and followed by 【妥协】 if required.

you are very very wrong in your these few postings, if you are (目前正考虑是否要退出白沙东与飞鹰), you are not in a good position to represent them in such matter, especially you are representing SIXGA to invite 白沙东 only.

Please be more careful in doing all these postings !!!!
