7 + 1 system with one round 分先 could be better than 7 + 3 system without 分先
7 + 1 system with one round 分先 (i.e. total of 9 rounds) could be better than 7 + 3 system without 分先 (i.e. total of 10 rounds).

The Concepts of 7 + 1 system with one round 分先 are
(1) you need to win the last round to qualify for Top 4
(since it is so critical, need to use 分先) and
(2) the 7 rounds swiss pairing system ranking positions will decide your final ranking position in the Top 4, i.e. first 7 rounds swiss pairing system ranking positions also play a part in the final ranking.
