OCBC 最近上调了所有人的等级, VP 加了3级
manager 是以前的 Assistant manager, 有经验的或者是master应该进来都是manager. OCBC 里面一个VP都是干苦活的，只有做到head of sth 才是真正的经理人. 所以，薪水最重要。

Nonsense"OCBC最近上调了所有人的等级" -- although i just joined this bank a month ago, but i can tell you confidently NO SUCH THING. From the whole department we only got 3 people promoted, one level higher for each. 2 of them are promoted from SO to AM and they've 3 and 4 years experience respectively.
"有经验的或者是master应该进来都是manager" -- there's a new guy just joined our dept, having 2 years experience in Citibank, but his rank is SO. The lady sitting beside me has stayed 3 years with OCBC and her rank is BO. Although they are not master degree holder, but both are bachelor degree holder.
"OCBC 里面一个VP都是干苦活的，只有做到head of sth 才是真正的经理人" -- Our dept head, he is not "干苦活的" and he is the 真正的经理人. HIS RANK IS VP!!
Moreover, the salary also depends on the rank. You wording and tone makes me feel very uncomfortable. Please do not spread rumor.
Sorry abt the misleading word using.
I mean a VP might not have a big team reporting to him/her comparing to a manager in other industry. But they are working very hard and their remuneration package is lucrative. Please do not misunderstand.
I just heard from my friends working in treasury there. I might not have the righ info regarding the promotions. You are in a better postion with more accurate insider info actually.

agree with 四季豆VP rank dosn't conflict with "Head of sth"?
i ve been with ocbc for internship in consumer financial service for 3 month. Both of my direct supervisors are VP AND head of XXX.
and, what is so different between 干苦活的 and managers? managers don't become manager by just sitting around.
Bro, you are absolutely right.
You have to work hard to be promoted no matter which industry you are. A manager in other industry works even harder.
Depends on scope and aread of function,I do see head of sth who is a AVP with just two team members.I am referring to head of department such as Head of Treasury Advisory, Head of Market Risk Management etc with a slightly bigger team. That requires the rank to be VP above. That will I might be wrong, but just to share.
