I am planning to buy a new desktop for small home business. Mainly for autocad, surfing and some multimedia playing. I find a system in dell web site but it exceed my budget (about S$1800), Please advice me which part is unnecessary. thanks.

the rest is ok

mainly for the expensive DDR2 memory and PCIe graphic card
downgrading to an LCD without DVI input is also an option if you're not too critical about the display quality

CPU -> P4 2.4C
MEM -> DDR 400 512*2 (autocad need good memory)
MB - > change to any 865PE chipset
DVD -> 8x or 4x DVD Writer without DL
Graphic -> nvdia5700 (autocad need good graphic)

should save u a lot :D
