急问有了解CCT-TECH做R&D software engineer的吗？CCT-TECH是家telecommunication方面的公司，主要做cordless phone的design
i) 请问CCT-TECH做R&D software engineer具体做些什么？我知道是embedded software design, 但是好像主要做application level 和protocol level的c programming把，比较少涉及kernel level？
ii) 然后，这个R&D software engineer中R&D的成分大吗？项目周期一般有多长？我知道有些做networking products的公司，项目很多，但是主要在别人的软件产品上做些修改，项目一般几天就要做完，好像很少R&D的成分。工资比CCT-TECH给的多一点。
ii) 另外一个NTU做Research engineer给3000，和自己的research比较想近，但是估计也是去写paper, 工资比公司给的少一点，但是觉得到这种地方而不是国外、对日后的research/faculty career帮助并不会很大，更别说是对上公司的帮助了，不想去了。
请大家给些信息或comments吧。

Is it possible for a PhD to apply leave from NUS while starting working?I know many research staff do it in this way. I mean they leave from NUS one month in advance in order to use up the annual leave. For phd, I don't know if this works.
Anyone wants to share your experience?

Is it common that 4% from employerfor the first year?4% from employer and 5% from employee for the first year and 9% from employer.
CPF website 13% from employer. But it also says that "If you have obtained Singapore Permanent Resident status in the last 2 years, please contact us for the rates of CPF contributions."

听说: CCT-TECH的真实内幕我朋友在里面工作. 香港公司, 出入门要打卡, 上厕所也要打卡, 24小时CCTV香港监控. 最重要的是薪水比市场平均价格给得少多了. 里面没有几个有经验的人在搞. 核心都在香港, 那边怕新加坡这边抢饭碗而不给核心的R&D, 就是简单的人机界面而已.劝你还是research engineer吧, 做的技术性还比较强. 要不然就找大点的公司. [我真的是马甲 (11-27 18:06, Long long ago)] [ 传统版 | sForum ][登录后回复]10楼

i) 公司都是追求利益最大化，如果不让这边发挥，不干点深入的开发，公司也吃亏啊。
ii) 那边怕新加坡这边抢饭碗而不给核心的R&D, 是不是可能公司都管不到？我看调几个牛人过来，会改善些吧。
iii)里面没有几个有经验的人在搞，可能是因为由于不肯给比较好的薪水的原因吧。
research engineer 做的技术性还比较强倒未必，主要还是写paper，本来有点想去，那个prof做project比较厉害，成心写了几分email留我，不过觉得钱有点少，3500左右比较理想，还是回了他。[xuechlai (11-27 19:07, Long long ago)]

严重缺乏freedom啊。
"上网的server都是在HK的"是指网关都是在香港吧，那上网岂不是很慢？
我看新加坡这边连自己的网页都没有，更不要说是email account了。
觉得他们当务之急应该是装几个server先，摆脱总部的控制……
