...2007 Bishan Cup and Char Yong Cup team event, only one school registered by the closing date, i.e. Greenridge Primary School, 1st in 2007 Char Yong Cup and 2007 第一届西区小学象棋团体赛. We have stopped to organise Bishan Cup Primary School team event after 4 active years (2003 to 2006).

for the coming event ....

whoever plan to organise such event in future, may wish to review the conditions for team composition (nationality, number and grade matters) and address issues.

then we can start 选区团体赛 officially, say from 2012 ......

I also mentioned that in the long run, SIXGA should target at the about 100 C.C. all over Singapore for the Singapore Xiangqi Development, e.g. to help 2 C.C.s to form xiangqi team each year so that in 5 years time, we will have 10 more C.C.s having xiangqi teams.

The Bishan Cup 选区团体赛 is to help to inject this thinking into the players so that more and more will help their own C.C.s (at where they stay) to form xiangqi teams or clubs in future.

I will use the following two lists to form the initial list (may remove some with valid reasons, e.g. 中正, 武吉班让 and 阿裕尼 formed teams just for 第一届狮城杯 etc, may exclude 南大 and 国大 too as there are too many teams under Education) and to take in the additions with the new inputs subject to verifications.

another possible reason could be due to the dates, 1 & 2 Mar 2008 even it is one of the activities under the programme of 2008 华族文化节 ?


Although all teams have been informed on 18 & 20 Nov 2007 on this event.

we just plan team event but not a 选区赛, then it is just another team event without any speciality.

Anyway, it is still better for the organiser(s) in 2010 to decide, we will include all relevant points in our review report for considerations.

(1) with 2 or 3 graded players per team, and

(2) non Singapore NRIC holders will be counted as graded players, and

(3) non graded players will be counted as graded players if coming from a different constituencies

in actual fact, it is 第一届碧山杯全国象棋个人赛.


第一届碧山杯象棋个人赛 is for 碧山东选区 only (small area)

and

第二届碧山杯象棋个人赛 is for 新加坡中区 only (bigger area)


and now 第三届碧山杯象棋个人赛 is for 全国, so we call it

第三届碧山杯全国象棋个人赛.


As for 选区象棋团体赛, may be we also need 三届 to reach not less than 10 teams and another 二,三届 to reach 20 teams.

If we only organise it to 配合华族文化节, then it will take the next 10 years until 2018 ??!! .... any taker ? Anyone wish to join Bishan Xiangqi Club as EXCO members to work on this project with speciality.

姚威和 was the last person to register for 2007 Singapore Group B, he got the first position.

赵金山 was the last person to register for NUS Chinese Chess Championship 2008, he got the first too.

By this logic, 文传冠 could be the the last person to register for 2008 Bishan Cup .......

We did not accept close to 20 records so far and we have no plan to extend the closing date due to a few reasons as mentioned earlier.
