Since there are a few xiangqi clubs sending two teams each, if the confirmed number of teams is 10 or 12, may be the method used in 2005 Lion City Cup Group B could be cosndiered : --

To divide all 10 or 12 teams into two groups, each group to have 2 or 3 seeded teams depending on the players in the team, teams from the same club to be balloted into different groups.

Phase 1 -- round robin system to be used for each group, total of 5 rounds

Phase 2 --

1st to 4th postions :

the top 2 of each group to continue 2 more rounds to deicde on 1st to 4th positions.

5th to 8th positions :

the 3rd and 4th placings of each group to continue 2 more rounds to deicde on 5th to 8th positions.

9th to 12th positions :

the 5th and 6th placings of each group to continue 2 more rounds to deicde on 9th to 12th positions.

If there are 13 or more teams, then the method to be used could be ......

as you try to provide misleading information.

As for Bishan, likely we only could plan to have one or two boards for graded players and 2 or 3 boards for non-graded players. Same number if by age, i.e. to have one or two boards for 40 yrs old or above and 2 or 3 boards for 20 yrs old or below.

We try to aim for a good number for the final position, i.e. 8th. so as to have triple 8 lah... hehe.

(We have both 8th positions at Sep 2007 Albert Centre Team Event and Nov 2007 Pasir Ris East C.C. Team Event although the actual position was 7th for Nov 2007 event.)

I noticed that Queentown joined Sep 2007 Albert Centre Team Event and Nov 2007 Pasir Ris East C.C. Team Event but not this open event.

In fact, all xiangqi clubs should try to attend this coming team event if they have no problem in forming team(s) as most of xiangqi clubs are under PA and logically should give support to this PA's HQ event and Nee Soon South C.C. could be seen as 承办 only. (same as sudoku for Bishan C.C.)

Before Nov 2007 Pasir Ris East C.C. Team Event, 棋一生 mentioned that女皇镇有象棋国际大师郑祥福坐镇守关，辅以今年B组冠军姚威和，乙级棋士黄荣岳，再加上从义顺跳槽的熊国伟，实力鼎盛。

But this time 郑祥福 in Hua Chong team(?), 姚威和 and 黄荣岳 in Beidou team, could this be one of the problems of dual memberships ???!!! ended up Queentown not able to form a team this time ???!!!

Personally, I consider this development is not healthy as I noticed that Queenstown joined 2006 and 2007 Albert Centre Team Events and also sent a few members for the Lantern Xiangqi in Sep 2007 and performed well, but one month later (from 18 Nov 2007 Pasir Ris East C.C. 10-member Team Event) and not able to form a 4-member team for the mind sport......

This could be another issue or problem for new or existing xiangqi clubs to look into ......
