heard that SIXGA is in the process to review our system, if 2 years is too short, could we use 3 years, 4 years or even 5 years ?

if we are not ready for the downgrade after "Position 32", at least we should have a "qualification" system, say to join Singapore Open at least once for every X years.

With the "Number of Years" condition, it is also easier for SIXGA to maintain the list of players in future.

自1999年起，全港個人賽分甲、乙組進行，每屆甲組卅三名及以下將喪失甲組資格，乙組前八名則獲得甲組資格。

自2002年起，制度更改如下，凡香港甲組棋手，如連續兩屆缺席甲組賽事，將喪失甲組資格。即上屆缺席者，今屆若再度缺席將喪失其甲組資格，香港象棋特級大師及香港象棋大師不受此限。

自2003年起，制度更改如下，全港個人賽甲組名次最後百分之二十的棋手將喪失甲組資格，降至乙組，乙組前八名則獲得甲組資格。

香港甲組棋手及並未參加過全港中國象棋個人賽（甲組）的香港象棋特級大師、香港象棋大師將可參加來屆全港中國象棋個人賽（甲組）。

I am trying to get the lists of graded players for 2002 and 2004 新加坡全国象棋个人赛 so that we can have the records of 7 years for the study, otherwise, we could just use the records of 2005 to 2009 (next year) if SIXGA could decide on the maximum number of years is 5.



To have a better system for Singapore Xiangqi Future, all xiangqi lovers should try to suggest whatever we could. Enough sharing of views from me in this matter. : )

1967 -- Introduced Divisions A & B for Singapore Open.

1987 -- Introduced 象棋大师, 甲级棋士 and 乙级棋士 for the players.

1991 -- Introduced 等级分.

全国团体赛没了,狮城杯没了,曾士生杯没了,罗名士杯没了,宗乡会馆杯也看不到了.四,五年前我一年能下50盘全国范围的比赛,去年才下了不到10盘,真是痛心. ......

With only 9 rounds in Singapore Open, once a year, 等级分 is not a good method to compare the standards of the various graded players.

What is the next best ??? To introduce more grades for the players ???

after I saw 吉隆坡象棋公会会讯 dated 15 Sep 2005 (joined 新加坡象棋联队 visited 吉隆坡象棋公会 in 2005 年6月, related articles from Pages 11 to 13)), I planned the 碧山民众俱乐部象棋会五周年会庆特辑 with the same number of pages, i.e. 24 Pages including covers. We managed to publish it with 60 pages excluding covers, but using cheaper method with photostating and binding.

A check of SIXGA 10-year reports in the past 3 publications shown that :

50th Anniversary -- 42 pages including photos

60th Anniversary -- 37 pages excluding 9 pages of photos

70th Anniversary -- 7 pages including photos

Due to missing data and information, at this point, to set the target of 24 Pages including covers for 1995 -- 2009 新加坡十五年象棋活动之一二 ...... should be considered as reasonable.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best. :)

and returned home before 6:30 pm and noticed that more than 160 hits for the target setting post.

If the users who give morale support could send 短消息 to me and join me to work on this task in personal capacity, then we should have a better quality output at the end of 2009. :)

due to changing of requirement from 1 room to 2 rooms since 黄教授 and 段雅丽(国家一级棋士，国家二级裁判员) are coming at the same time, tentatively on 11 Sep 2008, SIXGA is still having problem in getting two rooms from a same place, one alternative is to stay at 棋儒's house (at the east) but distance from SIXGA could be one of the concerns ......

《黄少龙；段雅丽履历》

象总于九月初将邀請中國象棋大師黃少龙教授来新负责指导少年与女子国家代表备战10月份的亚洲杯赛，随同黄大师来的国家一级棋士段雅丽，将担任陪练员，以加强训练，争取优异的成绩。象总也将趁黄少龙来新这段期间，开办“象棋指导员训练班”与举办“象棋座谈会”，训练班与座谈会的日期，时间与收费详请，请向象总询问。
现将他们的履历，简单介绍如下：

黄少龙：
男，1938年生，南开大学教授，中国象棋大师，1977年获全国象棋个人赛第三名，1986年获香港奥林匹克金奖，1990年获世界计算机奥林匹克铜奖，1997年获象棋名人国际邀请赛国内组冠军。曾任南开大学象棋研究中心主任、天津市棋类协会副主席、天津象棋队教练、天津大学生象棋队教练、中国大学生象棋协会秘书长、天津市松生棋艺学校校长。著有《象棋开局战理》、《马炮争雄》、《象棋实战中局谱》、《象棋对策论》、《象棋纵横谈》等50多部。



段雅丽：
女，1961年生，国家一级棋士，国家二级裁判员，1985年获全国象棋个人赛第十三名（达到目前国家象棋大师标准），1988年获棋友杯象棋业余大赛冠军。现兼任中国文化教育学院象棋学院讲师，长期协助黄少龙从事象棋初级培训工作，曾任天津市松生棋艺学校副校长，著作有《儿童棋类教学丛书》、中国象棋基础教程》。

all data and information collected will be grouped under 15 Chapters as below subject to (changes to Chapter titles) :

If there are 1,2,3 or 4 pages per Chapter, then we will have 15,30, 45 or 60 pages respectively for this article. As mentioned early, I plan to bring up and discuss with SIXGA in early Nov 2008, you may wish to suggest other items to be included if possible. We will pay attention to accuracy instead of completeness for this article, e.g. we still proceed to close it by end 2009 even if we are not able to get data related to IVP and Statutory Boards Xiangqi Team events or 新加坡全国象棋个人赛 data before 2005 etc.
