Below were the 3 posts resulted in my first post in 悟入棋途 and ended up with close to 2,800 posts for me in the last 14.5 months here and I wish to go back to my first post.

Recently I introduced this Singapore website to some friends who like xiangqi as I found that
it has a lot of information on Singapore xiangqi.
If the discussions of these types of serious topics could generate some solutions, then it serves
the purpose for Singapore Xiangqi, otherwise just wasting times. My personal belief is "action",
don't just stop at "talking".

When I joined on the first day, the reason was not on technical but more on Singapore Xiangqi Development as a whole and during the last 14.5 months, very clear in my close to 2,800 posts that my stand towards Singapore Xiangqi Development is still the same without change, but somehow the non-technical discussions become as having "dirty discussion" labels recently.

版主 (卷心菜 一刀n断 张辽) have done a wonderful job for 悟入棋途 until to-date, my leaving here is purely on my personal reasons and change of priorities. One day I may join back with another name.

As I do not believe in NATO (no action, talk only), at this point, I have also indicated that I plan to compile some information as one of the articles for part of 新加坡15年象棋活动记录 (1995/2009) to mark SIXGA 75th Anniversary Celebration at end 2009. Just hope that I am not 眼高手低。

The net names of 碧山 and 碧山东 will still be used but only on official news.

Last but not least, wishing 悟入棋途 a better tomorrow.

Anyway, I will still just concentrate on the 3 主帖 as mentioned early and ignore all other views from now on. :-)


Today, 31 July 2008, is my preferred date for the changes.

I mentioned about 1995 to 2009 新加坡十五年象棋活动记录 on 27 Nov 2007 and changed to 新加坡十年 (4th Qtr 1998 to 3rd Qtr 2008) 象棋活动记录 on 11 Mar 2008.

In the coming 2 to 3 months, majority if not all are busy on watching 北京奥运 2008 and working on 怡和轩杯第15届亚洲象棋锦标赛(新加坡)(10月20-26日). No one will pay attention to the keeping of records, this is the real problem for the past several years.

For official records keeping, accuracy and completeness are the two critical factors, very few or none wish to participate in such nature of task.

At this point, I am thinking whether we should give way to the completeness, i.e. we should not worry too much on completeness and just to compile whatever we have, of course, data accuracy is still to be observed.

This is the reason for me to suggest the tentative title of the write-up as below :

1995 -- 2009 新加坡十五年象棋活动之一二 ......

i.e. regardless 1,2,3 ...... or how many items we managed to compile.

Now, we have less than 16 months to compile these information if SIXGA 75th Anniversary Celebration is to be held in Dec 2009 .......

we are going to lose more and more xiangqi information over times if we do not start to do somethings now ....

Singapore Xiangqi 10-Year Records

We may use a moving target approach, i.e.

If we can get it up by Oct 2008 (in time for 第15届亚洲象棋锦标赛), then the 10 years cover Oct 1998 to Sep 2008, otherwise we may aim for Oct 1999 to Sep 2009 before SIXGA’s 75th Anniversary Celebration.

Singapore 15 years Xiangqi Records, 1995 to 2009

To ensure a good job, I also wish to suggest not to rush for Oct 2008 Asian Xiangqi Games in Singapore but to aim for end 2009 SIXGA 75th Anniversary, if the records could be compiled before Oct 2008 in times for Asian Xiangqi Federation 30th Anniversary Celebration in Singapore, it will be considered as unexpected present from Singapore.

the existing grading system of 象棋大师, 甲级棋士 and 乙级棋士 was implemented 21 years ago in 1987.

Yesterday 棋一生 asked me where to get the information for those years (2002 to 2008) not displayed at SIXGA's notice board. I told him about SIXGA AGM reports.

I may be able to help in checking from the following 3 sources :

(2) SIXGA AGM Yearly Reports

(3) 2003 to 2006 records as compiled from 悟入棋途 before 象总网页 Meeting held on 13 Apr 2008 .......

几度甲级 in 2003 without any details (should be Position 9th to 12th ? not in SIXGA Website too, only showing the first 6th.) except Page 28 of SIXGA's 70th Anniversary Publication (List of 甲级 by Year), may be it is good for 棋一生 to get someone to verify the information compiled before the use for 1995 -- 2009 新加坡十五年象棋活动之一二 ...... if suitable.

1994 to 2003 are the 10 years under Zaobao Cup.

卷心菜 has suggested to include 新加坡棋手大全 in his proposed wedsite.

In general, we should have the complete lists of SIXGA 象棋大师 and 甲级棋士 from the various SIXGA reports or pulications. For 乙级棋士, the missing parts are those earlier years, i.e. 1987 to 2001, some efforts are needed in these areas as for the compilation of 2002 to 2008 List.

As for 无级高手, not a good way to maintain it before the introduction of few more lower grades for the players.
